This Privacy Policy explains how Trimly ("Trimly", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Trimly mobile app and this website. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. Information we collect

• Account information — when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your verified email address and basic profile details to create and secure your account.
• Face photos / face data (AI Style Match) — if you choose to use AI Style Match, you provide a photo of your face. This is biometric-adjacent personal data (“face data”) and is handled with special care. Its collection, use, disclosure, sharing, and retention are described in full in §3 below.
• Your content — saved styles and salons, My Cuts entries and notes, and reviews you write.
• Usage & device data — limited technical information needed to operate the service reliably and securely.

2. How we use your information

• To provide style recommendations, AI try-on images, salon discovery, and your saved history.
• To authenticate you and keep your account and content secure across devices.
• To moderate reviews and maintain a safe, trustworthy community.
• To understand and improve how the app performs. We do not sell your personal data.

3. AI Style Match & your face data

AI Style Match is an optional feature available only to users aged 18 and over. Nothing described here happens unless you choose to use it and give your explicit consent before each scan. This section explains, specifically, how your face data is collected, used, disclosed, shared, and retained.

• Collection. We collect a single photo of your face that you take or upload for that scan. We do not create or store a facial-recognition template or “faceprint,” and we do not use face data to identify or recognise you or to authenticate your account.
• Use. Your face photo is used only to (a) analyse your general face shape so we can recommend flattering hairstyles, and (b) generate AI “try-on” preview images on your own photo. We never use it to train AI models, for advertising, or for profiling.
• Disclosure & sharing. To perform the analysis and rendering above, your photo is transmitted to our AI processing provider, Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, solely for that purpose and under a zero-data-retention agreement. Processing may occur outside India, which happens only with your explicit cross-border consent given before the scan. Your face data is never shared with salons, never sold, and never disclosed for advertising.
• Retention. The raw photo is processed ephemerally and deleted immediately after processing. It is not retained for training or any other purpose. Only the non-identifying result (for example, your face-shape label) may be associated with your account, and it is deleted or anonymised when you delete your account (see §6 and §7).
• You can decline AI Style Match and still use the rest of the app, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Website analytics & cookies

On this website (trimly.info) we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This is the only analytics or tracking technology we use here.

• Analytics is off by default. No analytics cookies are set and no data is sent until you choose Accept on the consent banner. We use Google Consent Mode so your choice is respected.
• If you accept, Google Analytics collects aggregated usage data — pages viewed, approximate location (IP is anonymised), device and browser type, and actions such as clicking a "Get the app" or app-store button.
• We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not use it for advertising.
• You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser, which restores the consent banner on your next visit.

5. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run Trimly (such as hosting, authentication, AI processing, and website analytics), each bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and where required by law. In particular, face data submitted to AI Style Match is disclosed only to our AI processing provider (Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service) solely to produce your result, as described in §3. We do not sell your personal data, and we never share face data with salons or advertisers.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. Raw face photos are deleted immediately after processing and are not retained for training or any other purpose (see §3). When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data; reviews you posted are anonymised rather than removed.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may access, correct, or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent (including for AI Style Match) at any time. You can delete your account from within the app, or contact us using the details below.

8. Children

Trimly is intended for users aged 14 and above. AI Style Match is restricted to users 18 and over. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children below these ages without verifiable parental consent.
